ETUCE start Gender project

more information in the future on the website of ETUCE

The ETUCE has successfully applied and received a grant from the European Commission for a new project on gender stereotypes and inequalities in education and the labour market.
The project with the title: “Teacher trade union actions challenging gender stereotypes and gender segregation in the labour market” aims to continue previous work of the ETUCE in the area and to develop guidelines on how teacher unions can mitigate gender stereotypes and gender segregation in the labour market.
This new ETUCE project will commence with a first advisory group meeting to be held in Brussels 23 November, 2011. ETUCE members from the Italian union FLC CGIL, the German GEW, the Bulgarian SEB, the French SNES and the Polish ZNP, form the Advisory Group and will support the ETUCE secretariat in guiding the project implementation.
Project Activities will consist of a peer Learning Activity for ETUCE members in charge of gender equality issues in their union; a training seminar for teacher unionists and; a final project Conference to be held in late September 2012, gathering 70 participants from ETUCE member organisations and representatives from other relevant stakeholders (EFEE, OBESSU, ESU, EPA, NEPES, EIGE and the European Commission) to exchange good practices & develop joint guidelines on the inclusion of gender equality in education.
