| Schools in England & Finland with support of EU work towards a Educational Passport for Migrant Children (EPMC) |
| 21 december 2011 |
Ensuring that Migrant children receive an appropriate education which enables them to integrate fully into their host country is a growing issue throughout the EU. Keeping these children safe from exploitation is an added challenge for any nation committed to protecting young people from abuse. The MILE project (More Inclusion Less Exclusion) set up jointly by local authorities from Bournemouth (UK) and Oulu (Finland) and supported through the EU's Comenius programme, has developed an Educational Passport for Migrant Children (EPMC). The idea is to enable EU countries to exchange vital information about their migrant children helping educationalists to tackle these issues and promote the healthy integration of young people wherever they may be.
