Around €600 million is earmarked for the EaP as part of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI), and their rules and will start in 2010 with 85 million.
These resources will be used for
three main purposes: Support for partner country reforms through the implementation
of
Comprehensive Institution Building programmes (approximately € 175 million);
Pilot regional development programmes aimed at addressing regional economic
and social disparities within partner countries (approximately € 75 million), will be agreed by mid 2012;
Implementation of the Eastern Partnership Multilateral dimension (especially democracy, good governance & stability, economic integration and convergence with EU policies, energy security and contacts between people thematic platforms on various themes) (approximately € 350 million).
