Education Law Intern.

There are different international educational law articles and treaties, but with different statues. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by example is less directive then Appendix 2 about education of the Europen Treaty on Human Rights. But generally speaking nation states have a big space to decide on their own educational policy, which is understanble because education comes close to everyones own beliefs, hopes and understandings, and education is not a one-sided product, but a proces in learning with different stakeholders.

On UN level the current implementation of international educational law articles is partly monitored by UNICEF, partly monitored by the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights. At present this is Navanethem Pillay. He is accountable directly to the Secretary General.

There is also a assocation of people working in the field of Educational Law with National Assocations. The European Educational Law Association is hosted by the University of Antwerpen, through Prof. Jan de Groof. The USA national assocation of ELA can you find here.
