Belgium Educational Presidency starts with informal seminar of Ministers about basic skills acquiring & early school leaving
On 9 July they met eacht other in Brussels, focusing on pupils' difficulties in acquiring basic skills (mother tongue, sciences, mathematics) but also on the question of early school leaving.
This meeting falls firmly within the context of the education challenges adopted by the Ministers for Education and confirmed by the Heads of State and Government during the spring 2009 Summit.
The ministers will discuss the results obtained and consider co-operation in these two areas.
