Table of duration of Compulsory education in Europe 2010/11. Without data about mass of education hours. Highlights are that most countries start with compulsory education at 6 until 16 years old, most countries (like Norway, Finland, Sweden) have 9 or 10 years of full time compulsory education, with only Turkey below with 8 years. Countries with 12 or more years of compulsory education are: Hungary & Netherlands with 13 years, Portugal & Northern Ireland with 12 years, and 11 years in Lv,Lu,Mt,Uk.

It would be interesting to compare these figures with Pisa results about effectiveness of compulsory education and its duration in years and hours. A challenge for researchers!
